Kombucha Cocktail

Kombucha is one of my daily go to’s. I brew my own and also enjoy several other brands – and if you haven’t tried the gut loving fizz, you really should. The booch also makes a great addition or alternative to booze… I’m not a huge drinker (let’s not count the gigantic glass of organic red once or twice a week!) and I rarely touch cocktails – but I do love making my own health infused cocktails to enjoy – especially in times of celebration; so it seemed fitting to share my Kombucha Cocktail recipe with you all in time for Christmas and New Year.

Now since Kombucha is all about bubbles, I’ve teamed this cocktail with another bubbly favourite of mine – Prosecco! I love the Italian Prosessco from the Organic Wine Club.

What you’ll need:
+ 1 bottle of your favourite Prosecco
+ 1 bottle of Kombucha – ideally unflavoured, shop brought or homemade both work
+ 1 large navel orange
+ 2 tbsp maple syrup
+ 1 tbsp cinnamon
+ 2 Prosecco flutes / mini wine glasses

How to make:
Mix the 2 tbsp of maple syrup and 1 tbsp cinnamon together and distribute evenly across the glasses. Try to drizzle the spicy syrup down the sides of the glass, as well as at the bottom.

Next slice your orange in half (slice a thin piece off of the side of each half for garnish) and juice.
Fill your glass 1/4 full with the orange juice, then add your Kombucha until the glasses are 3/4 full.
Let the bubbles settle, before topping with Prosecco.

Garnish with a slice of orange and a sprinkle of cinnamon… and of course cheers!
