Day spa experiences are often desired to escape, switch off and reconnect and at Daylesford Organic Farm, the haven they’ve created ensures you will do exactly that.
Arriving a short 90 minute journey later from a busy London, you walk through the doors to a place of complete tranquility. Everything is bathed in a healing White, gigantic crystals adorn every corner and you immediately feel like you’ve just plugged yourself in for a full body ‘charge’.
Over thirty-five years ago, The Bamford family began to turn their family’s farmland over to sustainable, organic farming. What started as a desire for real food, grew into the Daylesford farm we know today – one of UK’s most sustainable and organic farms.
With farm shops in Central London and their biggest in the Cotswolds, they consistently deliver in terms of organic quality and a strong presence in the organic farming scene.
Set on the lush farm itself, Lady Bamford decided to start pilates classes on the side, which evolved over time into Yoga and then eventually the day spa and treatment rooms were created.
With a range of luxurious body treatments, it made sense to switch off and unwind late morning, treating the body to a deep tissue massage. With a therapist so intuitive, that I truly felt the most relaxed I have done in a long time and easily slipped into a very present and calm space for the rest of the day.
A gentle stroll over to the restaurant for a hearty organic lunch, is definitely the obvious next stop when spending the day here. Dining on turmeric hummus with pickled veggies, Beluga lentils and kefir dressings, all washed down with a Daylesford juice and a spot of fizz. Kombucha of course!
Of course the whole experience wouldn’t be complete without stocking up on a few seasonal veggies, fresh from the farm itself. It certainly made heading home to cook dinner a lot more desirable.
